One Book One San Diego is a community reading program sponsored by a variety of local community organizations to encourage San Diegans to come together in the shared experience of reading and discussion of the same books.



For the Children's Selection, "All the Way to the Top: How One Girl's Fight for Americans with Disabilities Changed Everything" by Annette Bay Pimental, an illustrated inspiring biography of Jennifer Keelan, a child born with Cerebral Palsy who as a child became a disability rights activist who helped persuade Congress to pass the Americans with Disability Act of 1990.








For the Teen selection, "When the Stars are Scattered" by Victoria Jamison and Omar Mohamed, a graphic novel depicting the life of two Somali brothers growing up in a refugee camp in Kenya.













The Adult selection is "Being Heumann: An Unrepentant Memoir of a Disability Rights Activist", by Judith Heumann with Kristen Joiner, chronicling the personal story of a disability rights activist (Heumann) fighting for access to education and employment.




The Friends have purchased copies of these three titles for check-out at the Solana Beach County Library.  Please check with the library if any of these titles are of interest to you or your group. The phone number for SBCL is 858-755-1404.
