Dear Friends of Solana Beach Library,
Even as so much changed this past year, the Friends of the Solana Beach Library continued to support the library and community. Here are some of the ways we worked to do that:
Library materials:
•Provided $15,000.00 for reading materials to Solana Beach Library, including updated reference materials for Earl Warren students.
•Book club kits for both adult and young adult book clubs
•Book sets for Casa de Amistad and La Vida Del Mar
•Operation Book Drop books for reluctant readers
•Summer Reading book prizes
•Spanish Storytime collection
•$5,000.00 matching grant to the County Library for fulfillment of e-books as requested by Solana Beach residents.
In Addition:
•$3,000 raised through donations to purchase a Filtered Water Cooler with a bottle filling station for the lobby entrance
•Expanded FOSBL membership to 215 members.
•Donated books to African libraries, La Colonia de Eden Gardens, and La Vida Del Mar
•Presented three Friends Night Out events via Zoom.
•Completed enhancements to our website that allow more online transactions
•Friends’ docents volunteered at the Election Ballot Drop-off at the library
•Provided books for the Senior Center Book Club
As things return to normal operations, we hope to accomplish even more this year. See you soon in the library and at the Title Wave Bookstore.

The Mission of the Friends is to aid and support the Solana Beach branch of the San Diego County Library.
- To maintain a membership of persons interested in the Library

- To make donations to the Library in order to encourage literacy, the love of reading, and lifelong learning
- To increase the community’s access to information and knowledge
- To provide a diverse cultural gathering place
